Ready-to-use resources to help your clients ground, regulate and build coping skills.
This EMDR resourcing toolkit from the Manhattan Center for Trauma Studies brings together scripts, psychoeducational visuals and client handouts. Each one is designed specifically for trauma therapists and made to fit easily into your sessions.
What's inside
Scripts for resourcing techniques that broaden your client's coping repertoire.
Visuals that help clients better understand trauma responses.
Handouts that help clients manage symptoms of dysregulation.
The basics
Resourcing is the work done during Phase 2 of EMDR therapy, the preparation phase, to build coping skills and strategies that help clients tolerate and manage difficult emotions or memories. It draws on resources a client already has and helps develop new ones.
EMDRIA's examples include guided imagery, mindfulness, deep breathing and the safe or calm place exercise. Clients can use these resources both during and outside sessions. Read EMDRIA's definition.
