About Kim DeRamus Lareau

You are able to fly under the radar- most people in your life see you as a hard worker, dedicated, and able to multitask.  Sometimes you find it hard to turn your mind off. But you love helping people and are highly driven- you don’t feel like there is time for you to crack or have a breakdown.

You find yourself saying you struggle with change, but the older you get the more you discover that life is full of life transitions- all sorts, big and small. You’ve discovered that the only consistency is really change.

I believe that you are much more capable than you think and already possess lots of internal wisdom. Most overachieving high-functioning individuals have a hard time slowing down to check in with their internal feelings and body sensations to know what they actually need; they tend to believe they can think or learn their way out of what’s going on.

In therapy, I love to combine knowledge and learning more about ourselves with the idea of truly connecting to our bodies to expand our capacity.

I love supporting overfunctioning, anxious helpers connect to their internal wisdom to get out of their head and into a burnout-free, wholehearted life.

I do great work with  other helping professionals and high achievers like- physician therapists, nurse practitioners,  other therapists, nurses, lawyers, and entrepreneurs. In this work,  I combine my own knowledge, passions, and life experiences plus my specialized  training to create a collaborative therapeutic environment where you can grow in self-knowledge and in self-compassion.

After being in the mental health field for many years, walking alongside clients in lots of different life transitions and becoming a mom myself, I have also found myself feeling called to support other moms and families as they explore adding kids to their families, trying to get pregnant, pregnancy, and beyond. I work with new moms, repeat moms, couples, and those who want to become parents. Because of my own experience of NICU parenting,  postpartum anxiety and depression, I especially love to help moms who  have experienced birth trauma, NICU stays, or postpartum anxiety/ mood disorders.
