About Jessica Matthews, LCSW, LICSW

I am deeply committed to supporting adults 18 and older who have experienced difficult life experiences and are seeking to improve their mental and physical health. My practice focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can process trauma and heal using evidence-based, holistic interventions. I specialize in modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems, Deep Brain Reorienting, Hypnotherapy, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy, alongside other mindfulness-based and somatic approaches. These modalities help clients not only survive, but thrive, by healing the mind-body connection.

I believe in the power of resiliency, yet understand the exhaustion that comes from constant survival mode. You shouldn’t always have to be “the strong one;” it’s okay to let your guard down with me. I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to help you develop a healthier relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you.

As an EMDR Certified Therapist and IFS trained, I take an integrative approach to healing that combines both mind and body. I have specialized training in treating trauma, complicated grief, anxiety, mood disorders, and chronic illness. I constantly strive for cultural competency, as many of those I serve have experienced marginalization. My practice is anti-racist, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming.

I recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship in healing attachment wounds, and I approach each client with authenticity, empathy, and respect. Whether supporting clients in dealing with trauma or navigating the challenges of acute or chronic illness, I aim to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives. As part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m passionate about providing culturally sensitive care, including support for gender-affirming surgery and other unique needs. I also coordinate care with prescribers when necessary to ensure continuity of treatment.
